The Gebruder Grim started out as a three-piece in the grizzly Winter of 2010/2011 in Berlin. Their main influence has been and always will be the music they grew up with and what they’ve listened to as teens: Iron Maiden, Metallica, Motörhead, Thin Lizzy, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Anthrax, Slayer and Corrosion Of Conformity.

Deducingly The Gebruder’s music is not an entirely new beast altogether but it combines the raw power of original heavy metal with an independent DIY feel similar to how most of the afore mentioned bands started out. It’s also been described as a “bastard between NwoBHM and Stoner Rock” which in a way makes it very unique.

Their first EP „Waltzes“ was released in January 2011 and instantly named „Demo Of The Month“ by influential German magazine VISIONS. In 2012 the band supported Enslaved in Berlin and released their debut album “The Bamberg Apocalypse” worldwide digitally. It has been praised by the rock press as “catchy”, “well crafted” and “powerfully retro”.

The Gebruder released their latest EP “The Priestess” on December 6th, 2013. The EP features five new songs all of which derive even more from a late seventies/early eighties vibe. They recently added a second guitar player to their line-up to juice up their punch. In October 2013 they supported the legendary Trouble in Berlin.

Founding member Wolfman X (aka Berni Mayer) is also known for his detective novels “Mandels Büro”, “Black Mandel” and “Der große Mandel”.
